Making a Predator Style Clock

You know how young kids often like to know how old they are? And if they're anything like my son, just the number five or six is not good enough. He wants to know his precise age.

So we started thinking about how it would be neat to have a clock display that showed exactly how old he is all the time. And this clock would constantly be changing, because his age is never the same.

A few initial goals here:

  • the clock should be fun to look at

  • it should show changes rapidly

  • it should tell you exactly how old someone is

and a little extra add on:

  • why not also have it tell time in an interesting and visual way

To tell time we decided to create a predator style movement of symbols that would tell time in a real way, if only you knew how to decipher it!

All of the process and everything involved is covered in our latest youtube video. It goes over what the clock is made of, how each part is broken down etc, and how it it works!

If you want to build your own predator style clock, we have a bundle with the code and the files to cut out the case : Predator Style Clock Box
