DIY Platform Bed Easy & Cheap - Darbin Orvar
I decided to use a single sheet of plywood. A the home improvement store I had the two major cuts made for me so I could get the plywood in the car and so that the rest of the cuts would be smaller and easier to manage. I was able to come up with an extremely sturdy and pretty nice looking platform bed that I ended up painting white, and that in the future could be improved even more with a nice diy headboard. I used a table saw, and drills to complete the project but you could easily just use a jig saw or circular saw. There really aren't that many cuts and otherwise you just drill and screw everything together. I used mostly 1 1/4 inch screws for the legs and top attachments to the rails. I did not use any glue, but it would not hurt if you did. I made this bed so that anyone, at any skill level could make their own bed. You can take this design and add other wood, or even hardwood to make it even nicer. I hope a lot of people can add their own design features to make it for their space.
